"cicadas" & "babe in the woods" by J. R. Wilkerson

cicadas

seventeen years

ago

beneath the bridge

i drift along

our names still scrawled

below

still

the cicadas sing their song

babe in the woods

dead plants by the

door

handshake

just a touch

too strong

dull knives in the

drawer

pray

my intuition’s wrong
