because one woman’s trash is 

another woman’s bookmark.

And I will spread 

bright pages wide

for the careful, the attentive,

for the gentle hands

that can find me.

Kit Steitz is a queer, non-binary poet in Columbia, Missouri where they live with their chosen family. They most enjoy writing poems while fending off slobbering, overgrown puppies and geriatric cats.
