"Snapshot" by Karen Pierce Gonzalez

I am barefoot

and hungry

on the

forest fringe

of a black

and white

dream

over-exposed

shadows

film

my skin

as I squeeze

out of

a tightly

thatched

family portrait

tearing

my nightgown

to shreds
